On the afternoon of 26th October, the Department of Economics and Trade held an Innovation and Development Alumni Symposium to review the progress of discipline construction, discuss talent cultivation, and look forward to a bright future for the field of economics and trade.
The symposium was attended by Professor Zhang Xinguo, former Dean of the School of Business Administration(SBA), and Professor Peng Laxiang, former Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of SBA, along with alumni from various levels of the Commercial Economics major and teachers from the Department of Economics and Trade. The symposium was hosted by Associate Professor Zhao Yao.
First, Associate Professor Zhao Yao introduced the main agenda of the symposium, which included the development of the Department of Economics and Trade, alumni speeches, and free discussions.
Afterward, Associate Professors Wang Bei and Zhang Chuanjie introduced the development of the Department of Economics and Trade in terms of discipline construction, talent training, and research achievements.
The discussion session then began, where alumni introduced themselves and gave speeches, offering suggestions for the schoolon talent cultivation, discipline development, school-enterprise cooperation, employment and entrepreneurship, and student development.
During the free discussion session, alumni provided suggestions on optimizing discipline construction and innovating talent training models based on their own work experience.
Professor Zhang Xinguo initiated his remarks with questions such as "Which teacher left the deepest impression on you?", "Which course do you remember most clearly?", and "Which knowledge is still useful to you today?", leading to a reflection on the optimization and adjustment of disciplines.
Finally, Associate Professor Zhao Yao summarized the symposium.
With that, the Innovation and Development Alumni Symposium of the Department of Economics and Tradecame to a successful conclusion.
